Why do Japanese walk more than most Asians?

Because there are a lot of shops and stores are within a walking distance, so it doesn't make any sense to miss all the shopping that I can get.

I think that is because there are public transportations developed, and also, this is particular in Tokyo I think, is that due to lack of parking spaces, getting around by car is not easy for us. It is faster and cheaper to use public transportations than owning a car. Thus, we tend to walk more comparing to most Asians.
