We'll be visiting Japan during the golden week. We're interested in photography, food, interior design, bikes and new trends. We live in Switzerland and we'd like to offer for anyone visiting Switzerland that we give you the best tips of where to go, what to do and what to see. We would love to get the same tips from locals in Japan for our trip to Japan. Anyone any tips that are not in the guide books.

How about visiting museums? There are many interesting museums in Tokyo and in other prefectures, too. Naoshima Island in Shikoku Region is said to be "art island" and has lots of interesting exhibitions.

If you are interested in interior design, staying at a ryokan or Japanese old-house style guesthouse might be a great experience. You will get to be in a traditional Japanese style interiors which is totally different from western houses.

If you like to ride a bike, Shimanami Kaido is famous for cyclists. There are multiple bridges and the scenery is extremely beautiful. The place is recently getting attentions from abroad, too.

Visit places that are not in guide books. Like, residential neighborhood such as Ogikubo, Mitaka, Akabane in Tokyo. You will encounter different sceneries in each area.

I hope either of above help planning your trip!
