i wish to bring my mom to fruit picking farm near Kyoto in November 2016. Any advice? Is there local people willing to drive to the area and help with the explanations?

Kinds of fruits becomes very limited in winter. Here are some farms in Kyoto:

- Senya-Noen
Persimmon are available until early December.
It's 800yen/adult. They do not mention about reservation on the website but it's better if you can book ahead.

- Fruits Oukoku Yasaka
Pears are available until mid-November.
* You'll have to book ahead by phone or web (http://www.fruits-oukoku.jp/contact.html).
