I will be arriving in Tokyo in the early morning (staying in the Taito area) other than the fish markets and visiting the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. What should I do on my first day?

I guess visiting Tsukiji fish market and the museum is enough for the first day... If you want to add more activities, there are some options. - Walk around in Ginza, which is within working distance from the fish market
- Visit Ueno zoo (it should be super crowded due to more people to see the baby panda, though...)
- Try some Japanese sweets. (For example, "Mihashi" in Ueno)
- Visit Sensoji in Asakusa. (Actually I suggest to visit it some other day.)

You can stay longer near Tsukiji market / Ginza or move to Ueno for the museum and spend more time if you still have energy after the museum.

BTW sushi in Tsukiji market is highly recommended ;)
