Tips when you are going to the Tsukiji Fish Market after 6am in the morning.

Last updated

Hi I will be arriving in Tokyo at 6am in the morning and I am planning to go the fish markets? Where should I go to eat? And can anyone give some sight seeing tips in the area?

If you want to take the tour, you'd be too late. You'd need to be there 3:30-4 AM to have a chance.
There's nothing special to advise for your time. There are many places to eat, some popular ones even have a long line. Wear sturdy walking shoes and bring a good coat. Be careful not to obstruct anybody. And for God's sake, do not touch any of the seafood!
Many careless and stupid people in the past have made such problems, so today they have a lot of strict rules. If you want, you can still see how Tsukiji used to look like before the crackdown.

While in the area, you also might visit the Tsukiji Honganji Temple. It actually has an Indian flavor to it, and is quite unique.

Tsukiji Market !, Good site to see as the fish market. But a little late , the market is beginning around from 5am. And after  finishing looking at the market, you should enter a sushi restaurant. There are many very fresh fishes stores and Sushi restaurants. After that you should go to Ginza and Imperial Palace where are very closed from this market. Have a nice day!

You will be a bit late to see tuna fish auction, but still can walk around the market and have good sushi for breakfast. And drink coffee in an old cafe. There are many restaurants inside and outside the market. It is a lot of fun and worth visiting.
