Mari Takahashi Mari Takahashi, Living in Japan

I loved "Nemuro Hanamaru" in the shopping mall KITTE. They are a conveyor belt type sushi restaurant but has the best quality of fish among restaurants in that style. They are originally from Hokkaido. There is always a long queue which means locals love this restaurant, too!

Best Ramen in Hokkaido

Mari Takahashi Mari Takahashi, Living in Japan

I have tried "oyster ramen" in Kushiro and it was amazing. I lost the picture so I cannot show you, but there were about 10 or 15 pieces of oyster as toppings! The soup was simple and the color was clear. You can see the pictures at this review site. https://tabelog.com/en/hokkaido/A0112/A011201/...

Can you please recommend a Hokkaido antenna shop located centrally (shinjuku or maronouchi or ginza area?) I love the "pudding balls" from this company: http://www.bocca.co.jp/ And the Hokkaido shop that use to be in Shinjuku Southern Terrace has closed.

Mari Takahashi Mari Takahashi, Living in Japan

There is a Hokkaido antenna shop in Ginza, near Yurakucho Station. It's called "Dosanko Plaza" (どさんこプラザ)http://www.dosanko-plaza.jp/shop/(The one on the top of the list)Another branch of Dosanko Plaza is in Ikebukuro. But I'm not sure they sell the pudding balls regularly. I have heard that Dosan...

We will be traveling to Japan with our 4-yr old son. Do we get both JR Pass and Suica cards? For JR Pass, 7-day or14-day pass? If we get JRP, should we get one for our son too if we want reserved seats in Shinkansen?

Mari Takahashi Mari Takahashi, Living in Japan

JR pass covers all transportation fee for JR trains, but it does not cover subways operated by Tokyo Metro, Toei, and other train lines such as Tokyu Toyoko Line, Tokyu Denentoshi Line, etc. Suica card is a chargeable IC card allows you to get in the gate just by touching the card. It is very con...

Mari Takahashi Mari Takahashi, Living in Japan

I have been to Hitachi Seaside Park in early May (probably was somewhere between 3-10) and was just the right time. I guess April 11th is too early. You can probably enjoy tulip and canola flowers. I'm not sure about Ashikaga Flower Park. They say on their website that they have different kinds o...

Where should I buy the skin care of Japanese brand such as Shu uemura and IPSA? Between in department store and duty free at the airport (Narita)?

Mari Takahashi Mari Takahashi, Living in Japan

I have never checked the DUTY FREE store's selection, but major department stores (such as Isetan and Takashimaya in Shinjuku or Mitsukoshi in Ginza) offers TAX FREE service for foreigners. Also, I don't think IPSA does not sell in Narita. I guess it is safer to purchase at department stores. Alt...
