MEET & EAT HELP

FAQ

Do people who come with me have to register to Hub Japan too?

People coming with you do not need to register to Hub Japan. Feel free to invite your friends, families, co-workers, etc., to the dinner. (However, please note that you have obligations to make the whole group follow our terms.)

What should we do about the bill from restaurants?

We suggest splitting the bill for food and drinks. Confirm each other when ordering food and drinks.

Why do we meet up at MEET & EAT Partner Restaurants?

We ask to choose a restaurant from our MEET & EAT Partner Restaurants to avoid troubles. If you are going to meet Locals at different restaurants, please be careful not to go and take somewhere without people’s eyes.

Also, to enjoy various delicious food in MEET & EAT, we always recruit restaurants. If you have any particular restaurants that you wish to recommend as a meeting place, let us know from the contact page. (This does not mean that we promise to add the restaurant.)

I don’t have any preferences to restaurants

If you don't have any preferences, you can talk to Locals after matching and decide where to go, but they would like to understand about you, so please tell them as much details as possible about you and your preferences.

What should we do about making reservation to restaurants?

We basically recommend Travelers to book tables. If, for any reason, Locals have to make a reservation, please read through and understand cancellation policies before doing it.
Please help Travelers if they cannot choose restaurants.

I don’t speak English fluently. Can I still participate?

We do not have any requirements about English skills to participate in MEET & EAT. Travelers and Locals have different English skills so speak with your best ability. Please try to talk slowly and use easy English.
Also, MEET & EAT is not intended to provide English lessons. The primary objectives are cultural exchanges through meals and conversations, so please put English practice as a secondary objective.
