The Goddess of Mercy, Kannon-sama, and edible lucky charms!

What you can expect

Sugamo, also known as "Grandmas' Harajuku" is, as its name suggests, the no.1 town visited by the elderly in Tokyo. Why is this? Because Sugamo Jizo-dori Shopping Street is full of specialty shops, making it a convenient place to purchase good quality products, all in one go. Many of the customers who visit the shopping street are elderly, but the shop owners are also often senior themselves. This means you can enjoy shopping whilst learning about Japan's past from them, with the help of your otomo tour guide! The shops are full of interesting products and delicious foods. Spend a slow day walking around the old shopping street and shopping for nice little souvenirs to take home with you.

- You can experience more than just shopping on this street! Pour water over the Goddess of Mercy, Kannon-sama, to be blessed, and receive luck through trying an edible lucky charm!
- Enjoy sampling street food as well as shopping, whilst strolling around the shopping street.
- This tour is a good way to get to know Tokyo better after visiting the famous nearby tourist destinations of Ueno and Asakusa.
