1. White Sacas

Open from December 10 to February 14 annually, this temporary outdoor rink resides in the TBS complex, which also holds a rock club, a playhouse, and a few floors of shopping and dining.

2. Omotesando Walk Theater

Inside Omotesando Hills shopping complex is hosting a temporary rink from December 10 until January 10 annually! A café and bar sits alongside the rink, and a DJ is spinning tunes from R&B to Christmas music on weekend nights. Also it is fun because the rink is not made of ice, it’s made of “xtra ice”, which doesn’t need water or electricity to make a skate rink. It isn’t cold at all. Kids’ figure skating costumes are also available for rental for photo options for families.

3. Tokyo Midtown Ice-rink

Families with small children, as well as office workers on lunch, can enjoy skating in the daytime, while visitors in the evening will be fascinated by the glittering illuminations surrounding the rink. There is a rink-side rest area where skaters can relax without removing their skates.

4. Art Rink in Akarenga

This rink gets our pick for most atmospheric; the old Red Brick Warehouse sits on Yokohama Bay with all the delights of gorgeous harbor view Yokohama. I especially recommend it at night; it’s a magical experience watching the Illumination of Red brick Warehouse!

5. Meiji Jingu Ice-skating Rink

This rink has a great location, but hours are limited and entrance after 3 pm gives you a cheaper admission discount. The rink conforms to international competition standards, so it’s a good place for serious skaters.

6. Edogawa Ward Sportland

Although you have to catch a bus or take a quite a road to get here, but the Sportland has competition sized, and they even provide a free 30-minute skating lesson, every Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Because it is run by Edogawa Ward, the fees are also very cheap comparing to other skate rinks.

7. Citizen Plaza

This bright modern rink is housed in a complex that also includes a bowling alley and a putter golf course. It includes a small snack shop and there’s a skate shop outside with hockey and figure skating gear.
