Gonpachi, as known as Kill Bill Restaurant, has been famous for many years from the Quentin Jerome Tarantino’s film “Kill Bill”. Many locals and foreigners alike have enjoyed atmosphere and food from this remarkable place.
Gonpachi opened a new restaurant in Harajuku called “Gonpachi NORI-TEMAKI” on May 30, 2018. The restaurant is conveniently located at few minutes walk from Harajuku Station. They focus on sushi, except, it’s a Temaki-sushi specialized sushi bar.
Temaki-sushi is translated as “hand-rolled sushi”. The concept of the store is “the authentic Japanese sushi in a casual atmosphere.” Temaki-sushi is a common homemade dish in Japan. There are not many places where you can eat Temaki sushi outside, so this is a must-stop place for all sushi lovers.
They offer various ingredients. From vegetable sushi such as plum & cucumber to luxury ingredients such as uni (sea urchin) and meat sushi such as stewed beef. All of the sushi are 1,000 yen or less. Every sushi is served freshly made after customer’s order. You can enjoy the softly wrapped sushi with warm rice and crispy nori (seaweed). In fact, they are very much particular about this seaweed and select one of the most high-quality sushi from Saga Prefecture. The flavor and texture of nori were notable.
Another interesting menu here was “cauliflower rice”. They offer the cauliflower as a substitute of rice for those concerns carbs. The crunchy texture of cauliflower adds interesting spices to their Temaki sushi.
Their system is easy-to-order. You just have to fill out the order sheet and pass to the staff.
