Cat cafe in Tokyo had become famous, but how about cat Izakaya? (* Izakaya is a Japanese word for describing pub, drinking bars in general) You get to have a brilliant night with a couple of drinks and cats! It is another must-visit place if you are a cat lover.
Below are the best three cat Izakaya in Tokyo you should check out.
Akanasu (赤茄子) in Ekoda
If you want to be surrounded by multiple cats and are a true cat lover, Akanasu is the place to choose. The owner couple of Akanasu is a cat lover for all their life; they never had a time without a cat for 60 years! There is pictures and illustration of cats displayed all around the wall, which tells how much the owners’ love to the cat is.
In the Izakaya, five cats are strolling around freely. Some of them get on the knees of customers, others eat, others sleep.
The Izakaya has an atmosphere like a home. The building has the history of more than 50 years, also a good point to experience how Japanese home looks like.
The food is mostly Japanese style western dishes such as pasta, pizza, and cheese platter.

The plates are displayed on the bar counter so just point to the dish you would like to try. Temari is a perfect place to try some Japanese homemade dishes, too!
Temari opened thirty years ago, but it became an Izakaya with cats about 15 years ago. Now there are about eight cats living in this Izakaya. Because the location is Shinbashi, most of the customers are salarymen with suits outfit.
