19. Try tsukemen (dipping noodles) like a local at Yasubei

Akihabara is a heaven for ramen shops as ramens are one of the most popular foods among otaku in Japan. (I'm not sure about the correct reason, maybe because it's cheap and fast so that they don't have to spend time and money on food and can spend more on collectibles?) Among many ramen shops in Akihabara, I'd like to recommend trying a newer style of ramen: dipping noodles, tsukemen. Yasubei in Akihabara is one of the most famous tsukemen chains in Japan and get a long queue every day. Its thick and chewy noodles match with the soup very well. Ask for "soup-wari" after finishing all the noodles. Staff will give you hot water to drink up the soup. Yasubei definitely a flavor for locals, which you can't easily experience outside of Japan.
