Ami (安美 両国総本店)

Ami is famous for its “chanko nabe”, a very rich hot pot made for sumo wrestlers. Perfect for heavy eaters, but also very good to share! This izakaya is very easy to find, being close to Ryogoku station, but is recommended to book in advance.

Ryogoku Totoganashi (両国ととがなし)

Ryogoku Tokoganashi too offers quite a variety of chanko pots, all rich in flavor and quantity. The most quoted one? “Yokozuna chan chan”, where you can taste in a single dish chicken, shrimp, crab, seafood, tsukune (meat balls), clamshell and more! Ryogoku Taiko (両国TAIKO)

This is a small and cozy restaurant all managed by family members. In pure Japanese style, here you can find Japanese sake and some varieties of beer. The cooking style is also traditional and quite healthy, with a vast choice of veggie side dishes and with chicken as the principal meat choice. Yakitori (grilled chicken) is the strong point of this izakaya, we highly recommend giving it a try!

Monzenchaya Narukuchi (門前茶屋 成る口)

Fish gourmet at your service, here at Monzenchaya Narukuchi.
